Marie Eileen Hogan

Memorial Park Cemetery

Bartlesville - Funeral services for 99-year-old Marie Eileen Hogan of Bartlesville, OK will be held March 5, 2022 at St. John's Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church at 12:00 p.m. in Bartlesville, OK. Marie will be laid to rest by her husband's side in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.

Marie was born near Algona, IA to Dominic and Margaret (Jennett) Malliet on February 17, 1923. We assume her natural trail driving skills were developed early, being the eldest of three children raised on the family farm.

In October of 1943, she married Robert "Bob" Hogan, the love of her lifetime. After Phillips Petroleum Co. reassigned Bob to Bartlesville, they decided to settle into a modest home and raise their family. To this marriage, three children were born: Jim Hogan, Bob Hogan and Mary Hogan.

Marie worked within the home as a wife and homemaker throughout her life. She raised their children and efficiently handled the Hogan household until just seven weeks before her death.

Marie will always be remembered for her stubborn streak, and with that, her fierce strength. At 98, you couldn't help but admire her independent resilience. She was the center of the entire Hogan family and her absence will be immeasurable.

Marie led an enviable life. She was an avid (and very competitive) Bridge player. Later in life she gained an appreciation for the challenges of golf while the grandkids enjoyed access to the golf course pool. She enjoyed many international adventures with Bob after his retirement from Phillips Petroleum Co. For years the pair enjoyed the relaxation of ballroom and line dancing lessons, and every Christmas she was blessed by the entire family reassembling in her living room to share family memories.

Marie passed peacefully surrounded by family at Saint Simeon's Senior Living Community in Tulsa, OK on February 28, 2022.

She is survived by their three children: Jim Hogan of Bowie, TX; Bob Hogan and wife Tuyet of Liberty, MO; Mary Hogan and partner Craig Mincke of Pontiac, MO; 7 grandchildren, Mark Hogan Tulsa, OK; Joli Delay (Rob) Sand Springs, OK; Renee Hogan Dallas, TX; Julie Kramer (Adam) Plano, TX; Dominic Hogan (Anne) Kansas City, MO; Jennifer Dryer West Plains, MO; Austin Dryer (Cassie) Republic, MO; 12 great grandchildren; and special family members: Jennifer Hogan of Broken Arrow, OK; sister-in-law June Malliet of Urbandale, IA and goddaughter Patti McDonald of Cypress, CA.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Robert James Hogan, her parents Dominic and Margaret Malliet, one brother Richard Malliet, one sister Maxine Long and one brother-in-law Bill Long.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Porta Caeli House (Latin for gate of heaven) in Tulsa, OK. This Catholic charity provides assistance for guests and families as they navigate end-of-life care when dying at home is not an option.
