Johnnie (John) Allen Gabel, 74, died at his home on Tuesday, May 29. John was born September 27, 1943 to Johnny Gabel and Lena Louise Keener in Scottsbluff, NE.
 
Funeral Services for Mr. Gabel will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday June 1, 2018 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville, directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

John spent a good portion of his life as a welder on the pipeline until he came home and started working for Goodwin Construction. He later established his own business, Able Gabel’s Welding, which he operated until his death. John was married to Janet Schooler and they had 3 daughters. John was married to Charlene Brookshire Hall in 1975.

Charlene preceded him in death on August 7, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his father Johnny Gabel, his mother Lena Louise Gabel, and his step-mother Lydia Gabel.

John’s hobbies were his work and fishing. He was fondly described as “one good egg”.

Mr. Gabel is survived by his six daughters, Tammy Stillions and husband J.R of Anderson, MO; Tina Gabel of Seneca, MO; Tara Ball and husband Mike of Rocky Comfort, MO; Helen Hall Greer of Dewey, OK; Vicki Hall Sousa of Langley, OK; and Barbara Hopper and husband Kim of Bartlesville, OK; and one son, Jeffrey Hall of Bartlesville, OK. He is also survived by two brothers, Don Gabel and Dennis Champlin, both of Bayard, NE; and a sister, Sandy Batterman; by 12 grandchildren, Heather Wise, Johnny Stillions, Dakota Banta, Christopher Brodie, Andrew Vance, Cody Vance, Janice Saunders, Samantha Watkins, Lucas Hopper, Spencer Hopper, Clinton Auschwitz, and Travis Sousa; and 15 Great-Grandchildren; and by Rex Ennis, whom he thought of as a son.
