Rita Arlene Goldesberry October 3, 1934 - September 24, 2023

Rita Arlene Goldesberry, 88, of Dewey, passed away on September 24, 2023.

Rita Jones was born October 3, 1934, in Clear Springs, Missouri, to Eudora Francis (Jones) Crowder. She graduated from Dewey High School in 1952. While in high school, Rita worked at the Dewey Cafeteria. Later she was employed at the Dewey Tag Office and worked with Effie Watt, then Rita worked at the Major Leasing Services. Lastly, she worked as a title clerk at Phillips Petroleum Company from which she retired on March 31, 1999. Rita married Raymond Lee Goldesberry on July 1, 1972, and the couple made their home in Dewey.

Rita had many hobbies and enjoyed reading, antiquing, going to garage sales, and sewing. She collected coins and stamps. In her younger years, Rita enjoyed fishing, as well.

She was all about family and adored spending time with them. Rita was well known for her happy smile, her joy and being friendly. She will be missed.

Survivors include her three children, Terry Armstrong and wife Diana, JoLynne Armstrong, and Nancy King and husband Terry; a daughter-in-law, Shari Armstrong; a brother, Forrest Yearout and wife Judy; eight grandchildren, Brandon Armstrong, Kelli Moore, David Eulitt, Crystal Eulitt, Russell Wayne Miller Jr., Bridget Bennett, Brandy Armstrong, and Natalie Smith; 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great children; niece and nephew, Michael Yearout and wife Amber, and Tonya Yearout; and numerous other extended family and friends. Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lee Goldesberry; her mother, Eudora Crowder; foster parents, Elva and Everett Myers; son, Donald Armstrong; grandsons, Michael Steven Miller, Kyler Thomas Miller, and Bryan Gack; son-in-law, Russell Wayne Miller; sister, Viola June Jones.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Lanny Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Brandon Armstrong, Chandler Eulitt, Wayne Miller, Rodney Bryan, Kolton Miller, and Wyatt Eulitt. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Yearout, Tonya Yearout, Kelli Moore, Crystal Eulitt, David Eulitt, and Ty Eulitt. Services and interment are under the direction of Carter Davis and Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 4201 Nowata Road, Bartlesville, OK 74006.
