Violet "Vi" (Winters) (Banks) England

Violet Winters England, passed away on August 18, 2021, after a short illness.

Vi. was born in London, England on July 23, 1927. She married our father, Ray Clifford Banks on September 9, 1944, during WWII in Weldon, England. Soon after the war, in 1946, she came to the United States on a Red Cross boat and mad a home in rural Bartlesville in Osage County. Vi worked for Southwestern Bell as a switch board operator until going to work for Phillips 66. On July 16, 1966, she married James E. England. They made a home in Bartlesville until 1987, when they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. After the passing of our stepfather in March 1996, mom moved back to Bartlesville to be near family.

She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Auschwitz and husband, Jim of Barnsdall; son, John Banks and wife, Nancy of Bartlesville; a brother, Brian Winters of Grantham, England; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews, both in the U.S. and England.
 

Our mother was a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by our father, Ray C. Banks, by our stepfather, James E. England, and by her daughter, Carolee Martin. Also preceding Vi in death, her mother, Clara (Julie) Winters and her father, Edward (George) Winters, brothers, Teddy, Charlie, Terry and Alan Winters and sisters, Winnie Agostini and Pat Love.

She will be missed but never forgotten.
 

A memorial service will be held, 10am, Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the Chapel of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, with Rev. Brian Fuller officiating.

Interment will follow in Bartlesville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
