Mrs. Norma Jean Barger Cox, 81, of Bartlesville, died at 11:07 P.M. on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Heritage Villa Nursing Center.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Ken Peace of the West Oak Baptist Church officiating. Funeral services and interment will be directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Immediately following the services, a dinner for family and friends will be held at the Oak Park United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Cox was born in Osage County, Oklahoma on March 30, 1936 the 5th of seven children born to Pauline (Payne) and LeRoy Barger. She worked at Phillips all of her employed life. In her ‘Retired Life” she raised dogs, goats, kids and grandkids. She was an independent woman. She was a most excellent mother, grandmother, cook, seamstress, helper, companion and storyteller. She was always striving for excellence in people by encouraging us to reach for the stars, and in her community by being a caregiver to the elderly. Norma loved to travel, go to estate sales, read, cook, crochet, sew and be with her family. She will be forever missed and she will always be held dearly in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Andy, a sister, Cleva and husband Frank, and companion, Raymond Yates.

She is survived by her daughter, Anita and husband Robert, granddaughters, Shannon and husband Paul, Brenna and husband Lynn and Heather and husband Allen. Her great grandsons, Jeremy, Jason, Keegan, Karson and Cooper, her great granddaughter, Alexis and ex-husband, Jack Cox, three sisters, Paula Hudson and husband, Zack, Bonita Walker and husband E.J. and Janet Everly, and two brothers, Walter Barger and wife Romelle and John Barger and wife, Francis.
