James "J.D." D. Chance
October 23, 1929 - July 15, 2018

James "J.D." Chance 88, of Bartlesville, passed away July 15, 2018 in Bartlesville. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Town and Country Christian Church with Pastor Lanny Smith officiating. Final Committal rites will be in the Memorial Park Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home.

James was born October 23, 1929 in Dewey, Oklahoma to Frank Chance and Mae Hall Chance. He married Betty Briggs October 25, 1952 in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. He went to work for Phillips Petroleum in 1947 and was a Lab Technician. James retired from Phillips in 1985.

He was an Avid OU Sooner and New York Yankees fan. James was very active in Town and Country Christian Church and was a charter member.

He is survived by his wife Betty of the home, two Daughters, Lisa and her husband Casey Truett of Bixby, and Debby Carter of Lynnwood, WA., five grandchildren; Melinda, Amy, Kiki, Christopher, and Zachary, eight great grandchildren; Blake, Lily, Tate, Fiona, Samantha, Braxton, Asher, and Nolan, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mae Chance, and one brother; Hal Chance. Memorial Donations may be made in his name to the Town and Country Christian Church.
