Donald Lee Wood, 78, resident of Bartlesville, died at 1:12 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2013 in Dewey. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 9, 2013 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Larry Miller of the Warriors for Christ officiating. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. Military rites will be conducted by the James H. Teel American Legion Post # 105 of Bartlesville.
Donald Lee Wood was born April 12, 1935 at Fairfax, Oklahoma to William E. and Dora (Brook) Wood. He was raised and received his education in Fairfax graduating high school there. Don entered the U.S. Army and served four years as a personal cook to one of the Generals. He became an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God Churches and pastured a church in Luther, Oklahoma. Don lived in Oklahoma City where he met and married Doris Thibodeau in 1973. He moved to Bartlesville in 1978 and has lived here to date. Don founded an Outreach Ministry called The Fellowship of Faith. He also worked as a handyman for many years. Don especially was proud of his ministry to the prisoners in Washington County.
Survivors include; two sons Joe Thibodeau and Jerry Thibodeau and his wife Stephanie all of Bartlesville; three daughters Linda Dewbre and husband Ron of Dewey, Kay Zoski and her husband Larry of Bartlesville and Crystal Thibodeau also of Bartlesville; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother; two sisters Rene Bell and Velma London. Friends who wish may sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.stumpff.org
