Mrs. Patty Sue (Hawkins) Gilmore, 75, Dewey resident, died at 3:46 p.m. on Saturday, October 2 in Bartlesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6 in the Rose Hill Community Baptist Church with Rev. Orville Moody as the officiant. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Dewey City Cemetery by the Arnold Moore - Dewey Funeral Home. Visitation for Patty will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6 for friends and family at the Arnold Moore - Dewey Funeral Home. An Oklahoma native, Patty Sue Hawkins was born November 3, 1934 in Bartlesville to William R. Hawkins and Lottie (Gage) Hawkins. Patty was a graduate of the Dewey High School. On November 19, 1954 she was united in marriage to Mr. Charles Gilmore in Bartlesville. Patty was retired but had worked as a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and at the Munsingwear factory in Hominy where she and Charles resided. They also had residences in Caney, Kansas and Pawhuska, Okla. before returning to Dewey in the mid 1980's where they remained. They had been active in ranching for 20 years and Mr. Gilmore had worked in the oil and gas industry. Patty was a member of the Rose Hill Community Baptist Church for the past eight years where she enjoyed teaching the small children in Sunday School Classes. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her family and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. Patty was loved and respected by family and friends. Survivors are her husband, Charles of Dewey; her children, Debbie Lewis, Sandy Gilmore, Chuck Gilmore, Julie Gilmore and Patrick Gilmore; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Roger and Bob Hawkins; and three sisters, Clarice Dobson, Helen Cowan and Maxine Evans.
