Garrett James Battige, 13, of Copan, died at 7:45 P.M. on Sunday.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 8th at the New Life Wesleyan Church in Copan. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
The Family Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8: P.M. on Tuesday evening at the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorial Contributions may be sent in his memory to the Rivercross Hospice 4150 S. 100th E. Ave. Suite #210 Tulsa, Oklahoma 74146.
Garrett was born on October 7, 1999 at Bartlesville, to Gary James and Elizabeth Ann (Reed) Battige. He began his education process at the Pre-K program at the First Baptist Church in Bartlesville. He started grade school with the kindergarten class at Copan Schools and had completed the 6th grade, and was currently a student in the 7th grade. Garrett was very much a typical young boy, active in a number of sports; football, baseball, and basketball, and was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved music and X-box games. His favorite pastime was hanging out with his best friend Luke Fogarty at the Mullendore Cross Bell Ranch, and he had been an active member of the New Life Wesleyan Church in Copan.
Garrett is survived by his parents, Gary and Beth Battige of the home in Copan, by one sister, Kelseigh Denise Battige, of the home, and a special cousin Rebecca Lee Pittman of Wann, by two aunts, Michelle Reed, and Tammy Melton, both of Copan, by one uncle Robert Allen Battige of Bethel, Oklahoma and a special friend of the family; David Roger Sonsalla of Bartlesville, by his maternal grandfather, Richard A. Reed of Bartlesville, and maternal grandmother Barbara J. Burkart, of Dewey, and his paternal grandmother Barbara Evelyn Battige of Grove, Oklahoma, and also by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather James Gordon Battige.
