G.H. Sligar, 87, resident of Talala, OK since 1947, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in Bartlesville, OK.

He was born September 22, 1935 in Sperry, OK to Phillip Issac Sligar and the former Odessa Cattlet. He married Bettye Louise Brook on June 19, 1954 in Rogers County. He worked for Spartan Aeronautics, Sawyer Manufacturing, and the Port of Catoosa as a Stevedore.  He also worked as a Farmer, Carpenter and Barber.

Visitation will be 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm, Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
 

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Monday, July 17, 2023, at A Healing Touch Ministry with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating.

Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to The Journey Home, www.thejourneyhomeok.org. 


He is survived by 4 children: Phyllis Wyckoff and her husband Mike of Nowata, Larry Sligar and his wife Beverly of Delaware, OK, Judy Sligar of Oologah and Rachel Knight and her husband Rodney of Talala, OK, and 1 Brother: Bob Sligar and his wife Debbie of Talala. He also survived by 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. 
 

He is preceded in death by his wife: Bettye, 4 sisters: Ada Paul, Betty Sligar, Thelma Hicks and El Zady Nutt, 1 brother: JR Sligar and 1 grandson: Cole Wyckoff.
 

Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
