Margaret Ann Hollenbeck, 65, went home to her Heavenly Father, August 13, 2016 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Margaret was born at Wheaton, Mo. on August 10, 1951, one of 11 children to Burness Albert “Cap” and Mary Louise “Dolly” Dishon Day. She graduated from Independence Bible School, Independence, Kansas in May, 1969 and six months later on Nov. 21 married the love of her life, Rick Hollenbeck.

Margaret is survived by her beloved husband Rick of the home; four children: Rick Hollenbeck and Kara of Bristow, Nathan Hollenbeck and Mandy of Oklahoma City, Lauresa “Reese” Hollenbeck of Tulsa, and Lori Shields and Daryl of McKinney, TX; four brothers: James Darrell Day and Lucille of San Antonio, TX., Donald Day and Linda of Corinth, MS., Carrell Day and Joy of Joplin, Mo., Carl Brinkley of Pierce City, Mo., one sister: Carolyn Day and John Baker of Hannibal, Mo.; eight grandchildren , two greatgrandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews along with countless other family and friends whom were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ronald Day, Bobby Day, and Rex Day; two sisters, Sharon Kay Kaufmanand Connie Clayton.

Margaret gave her heart to God on November 9, 1967: serving Him faithfully until her home going. Rick and Margaret have served as pastor for 44 years in four churches: Fredonia, Ks. San Bernardino, Calif., Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Barnsdall, Oklahoma. Margaret was a rare woman of great faith with a deeply unique and sincere love for God. She loved music, flowers, making puns with her siblings, unique hats, thrift stores, and giving to and doing for others. Margaret’s gift of singing enabled her to break forth in songs whenever or whatever the occasion. Having been born and raised in the hills of Southwest Missouri was a part of her spirit and heart. No matter where she might roam, those hills and Star Hollow drew her back to the roots of her raising. She lived in the present; but had a great love and respect for the past. She will be greatly missed by family, friends and any and all whose life she touched.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Independence Bible School, 2246 S 10th St., Independence KS 67301.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Bible Holiness Church in Ochelata, with Rev. Albert Schaper and Rev. Jerry Schenck officiating. Pallbearers include Charles Schaper, Nathan Schaper, Quentin Schaper, Steve Schaper, Kent Schaper and Albert Schaper.

Interment will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. Services are under the direction Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.
