She came to California in the mid 1940s and became a popular waitress in Bakersfield and worked at the Office Bar and Grille, The Shillelagh (predecessor to The Tam O'Shanter), the Tam O'Shanter,the Bakersfield Country Club, and volunteered at the Guild House.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Kaff and husband, Darrell; son, Terry Dickey and wife, Janice; son, Loyd Dickey and wife, Sharon; sisters, Leta Towery Leal of Bakersfield, Hazel McMahon of Ridgecrest; a brother, Ivan Hurley of Alabama; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
