Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. John Vasquez, of St. Vincent's in Pampa, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. DAV will provide military honors.
Mr. Griffin was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy as a Sea Bee. He married Jakie Griffin on April 2, 1933, in Clayton, N.M., and she preceded him in death in 1990. He was a resident of the Amarillo area since 1929. He worked for Southwestern Public Service for 45 years.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Griffin; and two sisters, Denny Griffin and Martha Dofner.
Survivors include a daughter, Velda Austin of Amarillo; three brothers, Robert Griffin of Tulsa, Okla., Welborn Griffin of Locust Grove, Okla., and James Griffin of Pryor, Okla.; two sisters, Zilpha Newland of Jenks, Okla., and Ethel Littlefield of Adair, Okla.; three grandchildren, Curt Meredith and Renee Adams, both of Amarillo, and Kim Hawkins of Kerrville; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
