A memorial service for Drumright resident, Bettye Irene Hales, will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Tulsa, OK, officiated by Rev. Kevin Vogle of the Drumright River of Life Christian Center. Funeral services were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright.

Bettye Irene (Moyer) Hales was born in Columbus, Kansas on March 29, 1930 to the late Floyd Hubert Moyer & Grace Irene (Castleman) Moyer. She passed from this life in the Drumright Nursing Home on February 23, 2016 at the age of 85 years, 10 months, & 25 days. Bettye was raised & educated in Baxter Springs, KS. She then moved to Tulsa to attended business school. After graduating, she met Ellsworth Henry Hales & they were united in marriage on September 13, 1953. Bettye had worked for Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association, Spartan School of Aeronautics, & Trust Company of Oklahoma. She had lived in Tulsa all her adult life (66 years), but had made Drumright her home since 2012. Bettye was a loving wife and mother. She loved to cook, sew, play bunko, do crafts, paint, and spend time with her family. She also enjoyed serving her church, Community Christian Church of Tulsa. Bettye was a very caring & giving person; always putting the welfare of others before herself. She will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband: Ellsworth Henry Hales.

Her remaining family includes her CHILDREN: Kathy Wright & husband Wayne of Drumright – Karen Kazmi of Tulsa; GRANDCHILDREN: Chris Hales – Erik Wright – Meera Kazmi – Anna Kazmi; Great GRANDDAUGHTER: Stella Hales; former Brother-in-Law & Sister-In-Law: Buryl & Ann Franks of Bixby; 2 NIECES: Lea Anne Holmes & husband Tim of Oregon – Janice Coates & husband Bill of Broken Arrow; & numerous other relatives and friends.
