Chester Floyd Collins passed from this life on December 24, 2020 at the age of 83 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Chester was born on February 28, 1937, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas the son of Eliajah Allen and Ada Mae (Logstein) Collins. As a young child the family moved to California and then later moved to the Old Mannford area. He attended school in Mannford. At the completion of his education Chester began working with his father on the family farm. Chester later joined the United State Navy in 1955, after serving four years he was honorably discharged. Upon his discharge Chester returned to the Mannford area and started working as a delivery driver. Then on June 9, 1969, he was united in marriage to Thelma Louise Patterson. The couple established their initial home in Tulsa. Chester later began working at Flowbend as a machinist working there for over 15 years before the company closed. He then started working at Terminator where he worked making fishing tackle. In 2004, started at the Mannford bus barn as a driver retiring in 2016. Chester loved to play cards, work puzzle books, bowling, golfing, and working in his garden. Several memorable trips of many were to Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Fantastic Caverns and Silver Dollar City. His favorite place to eat was the Knotty Pine in West Tulsa.

Survived by his four children Robert Stokes of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Robbie Bradfield of Terlton, Oklahoma, Randy Collins of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Amber Edwards of Blackburn, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren James Bradfield, Haliee Bradfield, Hanna Bradfield, Vanessa Stokes, Cassie Edwards, Isaiah Underwood, Tonya Stokes and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents Eliajah Allen and Ada Mae (Logstein) Collins, wife Thelma Louise Collins, nine siblings Bob Collins, Vester Collins, J.R. Collins, Richard Collins, Wesley Collins, Donnie Collins, Elnora Jones, Marie Grant, Viola Collins, son-in-law Gerald Brooks and three grandsons Joseph, Mark Bradfield and Doyie Allen.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 10:00am – 7:00pm at Chapman-Black Funeral Home with services on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 10:30 at Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Interment will be at 2:00pm at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Collins is survived by her husband Chester, of the home. She is also survived by two sons; Robert L. Stokes and wife Barbara of Cleveland, Okla. and Randy F. Collins of Jackson, Mo. Two daughters; Robbie L. Bradfield and husband Jerry Brooks of Terlton, Okla. and Amber N. Collins of the home. Seven grandchildren; James Bradfield, Mark Bradfield, Vanessa Stokes, Hailee Bradfield, Hannah Bradfield and Doyie Allen. One great grandchild: Ashley Hicks. One sister; Guindoline Daniels and husband Troy of Pindall, Ark.


She was preceded in death by her parents Florence and Luke Patterson, Four brothers; Wilbern Patterson, Clifford Patterson, Nelsen Smith and Gilman Dunlap, Three sisters; Ivon Bradley, Dora Goldsmith and Clarie Patterson.

Pallbearers were Randy Collins, James Bradfield, Robert Wood, Robert Stokes and Gerald Brooks.

Services were August 28, 2007, at Friendship Community Church in Mannford with the Reverend Delores Terrell officiating.

Burial followed at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow, OK.

Services were under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry, Oklahoma.
