The death of B. Toms on Wednesday marks the passing of another Jenks pioneer. Mr. Toms died from a heart attack, he had been in failing health since New Year's. He was born in Illinois, January 20, 1865.

In 1908 the Toms family moved to Jenks where they established a cafe. During the following years he has owned a livery stable and at the time of his death he owned a filling station.
Mr. Toms was a quiet man who enjoyed life, when not busy he would devote his leisure time in assisting his wife in her flower garden. They have always been known for their beautiful lawns and flower gardens.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. Fisher at the Regular Baptist church at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Music was furnished by the ladies quartet who sang songs of his choice. Pall bearers were business associates who have known him for years.
Leonard Funeral home of Bixby was in charge.
Internment in the Bixby cemetery.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, six children and a brother at Lexington, Missouri.
God took him away to a place much more deserved, away from his earthly suffering. To eternal peace and rest."
