Pauline Bennett was born November 25, 1919 at Anna, Texas. She was the daughter of Melvin Butt and Clotilda McAnally Butt. Pauline passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 at her home in Bixby, Oklahoma. She was 88 years of age.
Pauline grew up in the McAlester area and graduated from McAlester High School. She then attended Hershey Business School.
Pauline Butt and John Noel Bennett were united in marriage on March 4, 1940 at McAlester, Oklahoma. They had celebrated 60 years of marriage at the time of his death in 2000. During that time she resided in the Eufaula, McAlester areas and moved to Bixby 17 years ago to be close to her family.
Pauline and John built the McHoma Lodge in 1959. They sold the lodge in 1972 to Best Western Motel and retired. She and John owned several businesses of which she was a partner and always did the accounting and secretarial work. She was a member of the Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow.
Pauline's hobbies included gardening and her family. She had also taught Sunday School and sang in the choir at First Baptist Church in McAlester.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leo & James Butt and her husband, John.

Two daughters
Arlene Bryant & husband, Hugh of Owasso, OK
Linda Sacco of Richardson, TX
One brother
Robert A. Butt of California
10 Grandchildren
16 Great-Grandchildren
