March 21, 1921 - October 30, 2003
Services: Tues., Nov. 4, 10 a.m.
Mabel Juanita Klase was born to Joe and Martha Howard, March 21, 1921, in Frederick, Oklahoma. She was the fourth of five children. She entered Tipton Orphan's Home on April 16, 1936, and left the home on May 29, 1938. On September 3, 1938, she eloped to Mangum, Oklahoma with the love of her life, Elmer Lester Klase who preceded her in death on June 9, 1994. The family moved from Oklahoma in May of 1956 and settled in Arvin. Elmer and Juanita had 56 years of blissful married life. Everyone knew them as Elmer and Juanita. They were usually inseparable and remained faithful members of the Church of Christ until death. Their reunion occurred on October 30, this year.
They left four children, Marcia Jeanne Lackey, Elmer Lynn Klase, Thomas Howard Klase, and Matilda Vian Klase. There are ten grandchildren, Ronnie Burl Lackey, Sheri Lynn Chase, Jens Dieter Klase, Kerstin Erika Dumas, Sabine Lenn Mixon, Guenter Jochen Klase, Michelle Christine Robertson, Chad Aron Klase, Tina Jan Zapata, and Valarie Lynn Montez. There are 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
The Celebration of Life will be held at the Arvin Cemetery on Tuesday morning, Nov. 4, 2003 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Mr. Glenn Williams, minister of the Mt. Mesa Church of Christ. Lynn Klase will present the Eulogy.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Lackey, Dieter Klase, Augie Zapata, Guenter Klase, Billy Kissack, Brent Mixon, Chris Lackey and Chuck Lackey.
