Jimmy J. Callaway, 82, long time Texhoma, Oklahoma resident, passed away Sunday morning July 31, 2022 at his home.
The son of Emet and Dortha Edith (Upchrch) Callaway, he was born October 3, 1939 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. The family moved to Texhoma in 1952. Jimmy graduated from the Texhoma High School with the Class of 1957, attended the First Christian Church, served the Texhoma Fire Department for twenty years, serving as Fire Chief, he also served several years on the City Council. He owned and operated Callaway Processing and later, Callaway Refrigeration, retiring in 2009.
Jimmy was married to Patricia Ann Van Dolah in November of 1990; she preceded him in death in November of 2009. He was married to Elaine Lancaster Whelchel on February 12, 2011 in Borger, Texas. He was a member of the Ramblin Rovers RV Group, Perryton Square Dancers Club, and loved Country Western Dance.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Pat Callaway, his parents, Emet and Dortha Callaway, and brother, Emet Callaway, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Callaway of the home, daughter, Darlea Livengood and husband, Jeff of Edmond, OK, Son, Randall Callaway of Glenpool, OK, grandchildren: Josh Crocker, Heath Smith, Callie Livengood and Jason Callaway, sister, Jeannette Maurer of Amarillo, TX, Rosie Clark and husband, Elton of Oilton, OK, brothers, Ronnie Callaway and wife, Barbara of Texhoma, and Donnie Callaway and wife, Chris of Texhoma, sister-in-laws, Della Callaway of Sand Springs, OK, Patricia Van Dolah of Borger, TX.
Memorial services will be Thursday morning, August 4th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Texhoma with Pastor Matt Maples and Shawn Crawford officiating, family inurnment will be in the Texhoma Cemetery.
Memorials in memory of Jimmy may be given to the Texhoma Fire Department of the First Christian Church. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
