James A. Fletcher

HEALDTON -- Services for James A. Fletcher, 89, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Reser Funeral Home with the Rev. Hurshel Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery, Duncan.

Fletcher was born Sept. 22, 1910, at Walters, to Thomas B. and Martha Jordan Fletcher. He died Aug. 6, 2000, in Wichita, Kan.

Reared in Walters, he lived in California and worked for Big Boy Manufacturing before he retired in 1962. He lived in Fox 25 years and raised Poland-China show hogs and also started the Fletcher and Fletcher Company with his daughter. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Assembly of God Church and American Legion.

He and Callie Mae Lucas were married July 29, 1942, in Frederick.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Mae.

He had lived in Rose Hill, Kan. the past nine years.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Marsha Huckins, Rose Hill, Kan.; two sons, Leon, Duncan, and E.C., Maize, Kan.; nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
