Buford M. Walters, 63-year-old Woodward resident died Saturday, August 17, 1991 in the Presbyterian Hospital, Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Russell Duck pastor officiating. Graveside funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday at the Seabolt Cemetery, Nicut, OK., with Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Buford Maloy Walters was born on January 7, 1928, in Nicut, OK., the son of Ray and Flossie Walters. He attended school at Muldrow, OK., and was drafted into the U.S. Army for military service.. On September 6, 1951 he was married to Burnadean Asbill in Van Buren, Arkansas. They made their home in Ulysses, KS., where Buford began to work constructing a gas plant, He later started to work as a roustabout for the Stanlin Oil Company which occupied the gas plant he helped to construct. Stanlin later sold to Pan American and he continued working with them as a first class operator. Later they sold to Amoco Production and he became a shift foreman. In 1976, they moved to Woodward. Buford was production foreman for the Amoco plant in Mooreland and Elmwood and he retired on Ju y 1, 1986.

He was a member of the First Baprist Church and served as Deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Bumadean of the home; one daughter, Sherry Fagala and husband, Terry, Gage; one son, Mark Maloy Walters and wife, Janna, Ft, Worth, TX.; his mother, Mrs. Flossie Walters, Muldrow; one brother, Johnny Walters, and wife, Carolyn, Muldrow; four sisters, Mrs. Wallace (Eunice) London .• Roland; Mrs. Pete (Ruth) Kimble, Stilwell; Mrs. Eugene (Joann) Mooney and Mrs. Mike (Janie) Henson both of Muldrow; four grandchildren, Tara Kay. Tanya Lee and Tina Renee Fagala and Micah Maloy Walters.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Eura Lawson .
