Owen Moten, 86, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died Friday, November 9, 2007, in Siloam Springs.

Born August 2, 1921, in Nicut, Oklahoma, he was the son of Oscar Moten and Lucky Mann Moten.

Owen grew up in the Nicut and Garvin area near Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was also formerly of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.

Owen was a World War II Army veteran, a poultry farmer and a truck driver.
He married Janet Marie Oliver on December 29, 1977. Owen was a Freewill Baptist.

Survivors include his wife Janet of the home, 3 sons; Owen Glen Moten of Neosho, Missouri, Dale Moten of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Michael Moten of Hollywood, California, 2 daughters; Willene Cox of Bentonville, Arkansas, Kayla Moten of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 4 sisters; Imogene Heath of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Louise Hames of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Myra Meador of Westminister, California, and Betty Rogers of Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Joyce Lamkin and Evelyn Earls.

Gravesides services were held Wednesday November 14, 2007, at Seabolt Cemetery, Nicut, Oklahoma, with Pastor Elvin Still officiating.

Visitation was held November 13, 2007 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

Interment was under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
