Neoma Ruth (Laubach) Vanzant of Lawton, Oklahoma passed away March 11, 2015. Mrs. Vanzant was born September 17, 1935 in Okeene, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband Claudia Buel Vanzant, her parents Herb and Ruby Laubach, her half-sister Norma (Laubach) Hill, and her brother Eugene Laubach. She is survived by her sons Claude Brent Vanzant of Gaston, Oregon, and Gregory B. Vanzant of Stillwater, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her elder half-brothers, Virgil Laubach and Donald Wahl, her sisters Norita Curtin and Nadine Benham and her brother Harold Laubach. She has four grandchildren, Amber Vanzant and Trent Vanzant of Gaston, Oregon and Cort Vanzant and Claudia Vanzant of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Neoma is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
 
Neoma earned her RN Diploma at the Oklahoma Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, Muskogee, OK in 1956, and later earned her Master's Degree in Nursing at the University of Oklahoma. Neoma retired from serving as District Nursing Manager for the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
 
She loved gardening and cooking, and was a master seamstress. During her later years, she made many doll clothes that were very beautiful and adored by many. Neoma had a laugh that was unique to her, that always left one feeling happy. Neoma will be missed greatly, not just by family, but by the many friends she had.
 
Please join us for her funeral service Saturday, March 21 at 10 a.m. at Lifechurch-Stillwater located at 1917 N Country Club Road. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
