Charley B. Millikin AKA The Ice Cream Man
April 21, 1928 - July 4, 2006
Graveside services will be held at Delano Cemetery, Tuesday July 11, 2:30 p.m. for Charley Millikin.
Charley passed away on July 4, 2006. Pastors Ron Arvizu and Charles Toy will officiate.Charley was born on April 21, 1928 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He moved to Delano in 1943.
He opened up Millikin & Son’s Auto Wrecking in 1959 as well as in 1980 took over Tom’s ice cream where he continued to sell until health problems forced him to stop in 2004.His wife, Ruth Millikin, son Larry Millikin, and great grandson, Gauge Kozlowki preceded Charley in death.
Lloyd and Kathy Millikin, son and daughter-in-law of Delano, sons Randy and Dennis Millikin of Delano, and Kay and Ervin Ward, daughter and son-in-law of Las Vegas survive him; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren also survive him.
Our grandfather was larger than life and meant the world to us. He will be truly missed.
He gave us our work ethics and our belief in the Lord and for that, we will always hold him in our hearts.Viewing will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, July 10th, at Mish Funeral Home, located at 120 Minner Ave., Oildale, CA.
