Mary Lou Billingsley, 81, died Wednesday, April 23, in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 6, 1926, in Shawnee to Floyd Dwight (Strawberry) and Lelia Maude (Grimes) Nicholson. She was a 1944 graduate of Wewoka High School.
On Oct. 14, 1944, she married Weldon Preston Billingsley in Carlsbad, N.M. He preceded her in death March 27, 2000, after 56 years of marriage.
Mary Lou was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She worked as credit manager for Lillian Russell and Custom Size, Inc, prior to her retirement in 1982. She was an avid golfer, hitting three holes-in-one, for which she was very proud. She was President of the Wewoka Golf and Country Club, member of the Wewoka Golf Association and a member and officer of the Ladies Golf Association for many years. She was also a Cub Scout Den Mother, Boy Scout Leader, Bluebird and Camp Fire Leader.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and grandson, Colton Billingsley.
She is survived by her children, Richard and Linda Billingsley, Marilyn Holley, Steve and Kelly Billingsley, Patti and Stephen Powell and Dana and Kent Roulston; grandchildren, Kimberly Gibbs, Jennifer Givens, Timothy Gibbs, Kayla and Jayson Janes, Micha, Taylor and Chandler Billingsley, Shane and Candy Powell and Chase Powell and Lacy Christopher, Justin and Tammy Roulston, Tyson Roulston and Kendall Roulston; great-grandchildren, Laci (Coker) and Repheal Miles, Kaci and Bretta Coker, Jodi, Jessica and Juli Givens and Preston and Jacelyn Gibbs; great-great-grandchildren, Braden and Ashlin Miles and Kayli Ann Coker; her sister, Dorothy Ann Jenkins of Durango, Colo.; sister-in-law, Mary Billingsley of Oklahoma City; brother and sister-in-law, Walter C. and Faye Billingsley of Bixby; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka, with the Rev. John Lively officating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry McCrary, Terry Mantooth, Johnny Grimes, John Smart, Randy Brooks, J. M. Windle, and Greg Smith.
