SEMINOLE, Okla.

Longtime Seminole resident Bert Edward Springwater, 80, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010 in Shawnee.

Bert was born Aug. 12, 1929 in Seminole to Clarence Calvin and Martha May (Davis) Springwater.
Bert a life long Seminole resident attended and graduated from Seminole High School in 1948 and served in the National Guard from 1947-1948 and in 1953 served in the U.S. Air Force in Europe during the Korean Conflict.

Bert was very active in the American Legion post in Seminole. Bert spent most of his working career in the Seminole oilfields on drilling rigs.


Bert married Helen Jean (Kepler) Springwater in April 12, 1954 in Ada. She preceded him in death on May 10, 1994.
His parents, Clarence and Martha Springwater; his wife Helen; his brother, Conard Springwater; and two sisters, Helen Hart and Ruth Roby preceded him in death.


Bert is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Larry Stan Evans of Shawnee. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Amber Scott and her husband Darcy and Andrew Evans, both of Shawnee; two great-grandchildren, Rylee Ann Scott and Madison N. Scott of Shawnee.


Graveside services are planned for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 5, at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole. The Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate the service.
