Christopher Elwood “Chris” Oslin

SEMINOLE, Okla. —

Christopher Elwood “Chris” Oslin, 59, of Seminole, passed from this life June 17, 2011, at his home in Seminole.
He was born Feb. 9, 1952, in Chincoteague, Va., to parents Elwood Raymond Oslin and Mabel Margaret (McCreary) Oslin.
Following his high school graduation, Chris continued his education earning his associate’s degree in automotive and major appliance repair. He moved to the Seminole area in 1980 from Escondido, Calif. Chris had worked for Sears and then owned and operated his own appliance store in Seminole named “Seminole Appliance,” and at the same time he owned and operated “E-Z Rentals” in Seminole. Chris was also a master carpenter and was blessed with many skills from water well service, soft water systems to tractor and mower repair.
Chris married Terri Lee Ford on Nov. 26, 1976, in Escondido, Calif.
Chris enjoyed being involved in the community; he was a longtime member of Harvey Road Baptist Church and currently a member of Seminole First Baptist Church. He was active with the Seminole Arts Council where he enjoyed singing in plays they performed, such as “The Sound Of Music” and “Annie.”
Chris is survived by his wife, Terri Lee Oslin, of Seminole; two sons, Christopher Lee Oslin, of Seminole, and Matthew Raymond Oslin, of Choctaw, and his fiance, Chelsea Diane Fead; his two daughters, Janelle Lynn Oslin and Nicole Ann Marie Oslin, both of Seminole; his father, Elwood R. Oslin; his mother-in-law, Margaret Ford, of Seminole; brother-in-law, Douglas Ford and his wife, Glenda; Nancy Lea Matthews and husband, Don, of Fontans, Calif., and Peggy Ann Ross and husband, Rick, of Escondido, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Samantha, Bridgette, Amanda, Amy and Madison.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Margaret McCreary.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield and Pastor Marvin Kehl officiating the service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
