Etta Lorraine (Phipllippi) Davis

Funeral services for Seminole County native Etta Lorraine (Phillippi) Davis are scheduled for Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m., May 27, 2008 at the Church of Christ at Little with Rusty Dawson and Howard Byerly officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery with services under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Lorraine passed away May 23, 2008 at the age of 96 at the Seminole Estates Nursing Home in Seminole.
She was born May 20, 1912 to Frank and Cora (Johnston) Phillippi in Wewoka.
On December 1, 1937 in Little, Oklahoma, she married Mont Davis. She worked at the DHS in Wewoka and he was County Commissioner when they met. Lorraine was a city girl, living with her widowed mother at the time of her marriage.
She often commented on how the "women of the community of Little" showed her how to cook and can.
Lorraine loved her family, the Church, cooking, and visiting with friends, (most of whom have gone on before her) and enjoying life. She loved flowers and was once a member of an Iris Club and had a prize winning Iris.
Her entire family attend the Church of Christ in their respective locations. She and Mont raised their children in the Church of Christ at Little, Oklahoma.
She will be deeply missed by family, friends and the community of Little.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Elizabeth Dodson and husband S.W.Dodson, daughter Frances and husband Eugene Warrenburg, and son-in-law Al Lawrence.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Davis and wife Beth of Little, her daughter Kay Hinson and husband Adolph of Shawnee, daughter, Irene Lawrence, Pauls Valley, grandchildren: Owen Davis, Shawnee, Jesse and Lesley Davis, Pryor, Tracy (Scruggs) Noerpier and Rob, Nashville, TN, Donna Hardin and Jim, Little, and Marsha Guymon and J., Broken Arrow, Linda Dowell and Dwayne, Lubbock, TX, Ann Frame and Danny, Pauls Valley, Carol Werhan and Mark of Wisconsin. Also surviving Lorraine are 10 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
