Troy Richard “T.R.” Carpenter, Sr., 67, of Tuttle, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at his home. The son of Hollis Orville Carpenter, Sr. and Lois Louise (Campbell) Carpenter, he was born October 24, 1950 in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
T.R. married Barbara Susan Sowers on February 6, 1970 in Oklahoma City. He was the owner and operator of a hotshot delivery service for many years. T.R. was an avid outdoorsman and spent countless hours hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed hunting with his grandsons. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Hollis Orville Carpenter, Jr.
Troy is survived by his wife, Barbara Carpenter, of Tuttle; one daughter, Tawnya Reed and her husband, Trey, of Blanchard; two sons, Troy Carpenter, Jr. and his wife, Megan, of Tuttle and Daniel Carpenter of Tuttle; four grandchildren, Colby Reed, Caleb Reed, Austin Carpenter, and Faith Carpenter; one brother, Jerry Carpenter and his wife, Brenda, of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Ruth Carpenter of Blanchard; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Pocasset. Burial will follow in the Little Cemetery in Seminole.
