Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Stephen United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Smith, senior pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle.
Mr. Meyers was born in Rooks County, Kan. He served with the Navy during World War II. He lived in Perryton for 34 years where he was active in the community.
He was a member of Perryton First United Methodist Church and past president of Perryton Rotary Club and Perryton Chamber of Commerce. He was named Citizen of the Year in 1971 in Perryton, was past director of Perryton YMCA and was a member of Perryton Masonic Lodge.
He was involved in broadcast and public relations management. He moved to Amarillo five years ago and moved his membership to St. Stephen United Methodist Church. He married Faye Jones in 1950 at Dodge City, Kan.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Brim, in 1983.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Michelle Gipson and husband, Rodney, of Amarillo; a son-in-law, Jon Brim of Claremore, Okla; and six grandchildren, April Gipson, Melissa Gnagy, Kurt Barclay, Blake Barclay, Jeremy Brim and Zane Brim.
The family suggests memorials be to St. Stephen United Methodist Church, 4600 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
The family will be at 3508 S. Crockett St. in Amarillo.
