Norma Johnston
Norma Louise Pace was born on Tuesday, November 1, 1927 in Webb City, Oklahoma to George W. and Nora (Jackson )Pace.
Norma attended school in Shidler and Grainola. She married James Robert "J. R." Johnston on March 13, 1944 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. They moved here in 1946 from Grainola to make Chelsea their home, they have three daughters Merrilynn, Liz and Tersea.
Norma worked for the election board, also as a dress shop clerk as well as a rancher and homemaker. She was a active member of
the Westside Holiness Church in Claremore, Oklahoma and the Chelsea Historical Society.
Norma died Saturday afternoon July 7th at her home. She was preceded in death by her Parents George and Nora Pace, Sisters Margie Stevens and Betty Vandiver, Son Terry Jay Johnston, Brothers Bobby McCaslin, George and Jim Pace and Son In Laws David Bradshaw and Kenneth Nelson.
She is survived by: Her Husband, James Robert Johnston of the home in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Daughters, Merrilynn Parks and husband John of Chelsea, Oklahoma. Elizabeth L. Nelson of Chelsea, Oklahoma. Tersea G. Johnston-Armstrong and Husband Tom of Collinsville, Oklahoma. One Brother, Edward Pace of Laguna Beach, Texas. Two Sisters, Ruth Miller of Albany, Oregon. Julia Stanford of Ball Ground, Georgia. Three Grandchildren, Johnny Parks and wife Malinda, Kristie Nelson, Kathy Cash and Husband Jerry. Six Great Grandchildren, Thomas Parks and Wife Janie, Cassie, Vanessa, Ben and Caleb Parks, Dusty Cash. And a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service: 2:00 Wednesday, July 7th at the Westside Holiness Church (19055 S hwy 88 corner of Hwy 88 & Lowery Rd. 1 mile North of Will Rogers Memorial ) in Claremore, Oklahoma with Bro. Darrell Meadow Officiating. Casket Bearers are Johnny, Thomas, Ben and Caleb Parks, Cecil Johnston and Ray Minor. Burial will follow in the Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of Seaman - Blanke Funeral Service of Chelsea, Oklahoma.
