Willis A. Amend

Willis Andrew Amend, 97, was born May 16, 1893 in Vinita to S L. and Mary Knoff Amend and died Thursday in Erick Nursing Home. He moved with his parents to Vernon, Texas then on to the Hamburg community. On August 15, 1933 he married Nancy Eveline Lawson in Arnett. They lived in Reydon until 1945 when they moved to Erick. He attended the Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War I and active member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was active in farming and ranching. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife in 1970, one sister and two brothers. Survivors are: his daughter, Maxine Wright of Reydon; four grandchildren; Jimmy Edwards, Erick; Donnie Wright, Brenda Hawkins and David Wright, all of Reydon; five great grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Reydon First Baptist Church with Morris Cook officiating. Interment will follow in White Rose Cemetery, Redyon, Roger Mills County, OK, under direction of Rose chapel Funeral service.
