Verna E. Yowell was born August 7, 1887 in Terre Haute, Indiana and passed away in Cheyenne, Oklahoma Monday, April 27, 1959, after an extended illness, at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 20 days. She with her parents came to western Oklahoma in 1901, and homesteaded one mile west of Reydon, and had lived in the Reydon community since, being one of Western Oklahoma's pioneers. She has been a member of the Church of Christ for 46 years. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Pearl Fender of Sulphur, a brother, Charlie Mallett of San Diego, California, a half-brother, Billie Mallet of Oakland, California, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Goldie Yowell of Reydon, one grandson and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Yowell of Reydon, a great grandson, Jimmie Lee Yowell of Reydon; two nieces, and other relatives and many friends.r husband, the late Guy a. Spurlin, assisted by Rev. W.. Little. Burial was in the White Rose cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma by the side of her husband.
