John R. Taylor was born at New Alexandria, Pennsylvania June 18, 1851 and died November 26, 1935, age 84 years, 5 months and 8 days.

He was married to Miss Mattie Lucy McClaren in 1885 and to this union were born thirteen children, nine of whom are living. They also have eighteen grandchildren. The children are Mrs. Eva Decrocker, Kalamazoo, Michigan; Mrs. Fern Ruby of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Grace Thompson of Reydon, Oklahoma; twins Frank and George Taylor; Frank residing in Wichita, Kansas; and George near Reydon; Paul, Verne and Wayne, all of near Reydon; Mrs. Agnes Meeks of Reydon; and one brother, Frank of near Reydon.

Mr. Taylor united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church early in life.

Funeral services were held in Reydon at the Assembly of God Church by the pastor, M. A. Hawkins.

The burial was under the direction of the Tunnard Funeral Home of Cheyenne.
