Joe Lane was born May 14, 1923 in Rankin, Oklahoma to Sarah Elizabeth and Frank Monroe Lane. He passed away June 15, 2017 at Amarillo, Texas at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 1 day.

Joe grew up in the Reydon community where he attended schools. At an early age he helped his family on the farm. He was married to Willie May (Gray) Lane at Reydon, Oklahoma on May 24, 1945. Joe and Willie stayed in Reydon for a couple of years before moving to Pampa, Texas where Joe worked on the railroad for a year before moving back to Reydon where he farmed near Reydon and Sweetwater. In 1952 they moved to Pantex and later to Amarillo, Texas in 1953 where Joe worked for the City of Amarillo driving a truck. He remained there for 28 years until his retirement. Joe and Willie spent their retirement in Amarillo where Joe enjoyed fishing, playing country music with his dad, brothers, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 sons, Jackie Lynn and Calvie Eugene, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 grandson.

He is survived by his 2 daughters, Joletta Bybee and husband, Billy, Amarillo, TX and Iva Jean Tomlin, Amarillo, TX; 2 sons, Bobby Joe Lane and wife, Cathy, Wilderado, TX  and Jimmy Lane and wife, Pat, Amarillo, TX; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 37 great great grandchildren; 1 brother, I.V. Gray and wife, Suzanne, Hemet, CA and a host of other relatives and friends.
