Josephine Harrison Kester was born April 10, 1928 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Martha and A.H. McEntire. She passed away September 25, 2003 in Elkwood Assisted Living Center, Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 75 yeards, 5 months and 15 days.
Josephine grew up in the Sunny Point and Dempsey communities. She married Elmer Quinton Harrison in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. They lived in Dumas, Texas for 1 year before moving to Reydon, Oklahoma where they farmed and owned a convenience store. Elmer passed away in 1984 and she later moved to Elk City, Oklahoma. On March 17, 1989 she married Leon Kester and they remained in Elk City to make their home.
Josephine was a member of the Reydon First Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, Elmer Ray, 2 brothers, Elzie, Houston, Roy McEntire, 2 sisters, Oleta Dunn and Blanch Barclay.
The family would like to invite Josephine's friends to join them at the Reydon American Legion Hut after the conclusion of services for a time of fellowship.
Services were held Saturday, September 27, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at Whinery-Savage Chapel, officiated by Ray Smart. Burial will be at White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
Survivors include 2 sons, Quinton Harrison and wife, Jackie of Elk City, Oklahoma; Key Harrison and wife, Jill of Hereford, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Brande Harrison, Stephanie Harrison, Clarie Harrison, Hanna Harrison, Brad Harrison, Chad Harrison; 3 sisters, Eloise Brooks of Granite, Oklahoma, Oleta Brewer of Elk City, Oklahoma, Willie Cruze of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a host of relatives and friends.
