Jacob Edward "Jake" Estes

Jacob Edward "Jake" Estes, 69, of Route 1, Cheyenne, was born December 30, 1915 in Elk City, Oklahoma, to William Jackson and Daisy Bachmann Estes and passed from this life Friday, October 25, 1985 at his farm near Reydon, Oklahoma.

Mr. Estes had always lived in Roger Mills county.

On November 25, 1939 he was married to Ruby Lee Cline in Reydon.

In 1943-45 they lived in Wichita, Kansas, then returned to Reydon where they made their home until 1978 when they moved to Cheyenne.

Mr. Estes was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Reydon.

He was a veteran of World War II and had been a member of the American Legion of Reydon.

He was a farmer and rancher.

Those who preceded him in death were his wife, Ruby, in 1983, his parents and two sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Edna Mae Allen of Grand Prairie, Texas; Gloria Fay Lemke of Crowley, Texas; and Judy Kay Brix of Waukomis, Oklahoma; one son, Donald Ray of Canute, Oklahoma; one sister, Bertha Shoof of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Bill Estes of Kileen, Texas; eight grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Services were conducted Monday, October 28, 1985 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Reydon with Bro. Eddie Overstreet officiating.

Interment followed in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne in charge of arrangements.

Serving as active pallbearers were Quinton Harrison, Ray Hughes, Andren Jackson, Jimmy McCoy, Don Pennington and Larry Spurlin.

Honorary pallbearers were Paul Burks, Lester Davis, Oscar Hamon, Elzie McEntire, O.T. Park, Luther Pierce and Ernest West.
