Billy Walker "Ike" Duke

Billy Walker "Ike" Duke was born March 18, 1929 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Opal and James Walker Duke and passed away June 17, 1998 at his home in Reydon, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 29 days.

Ike graduated from Hammon High School in 1947.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1948 before marrying Doris Wynn on April 19, 1949 in Wheeler, Texas.

After his discharge, they moved to the Reydon community to make their home.

He was recalled to the Army for a short time during the Korean Conflict.

He then returned to Reydon where he farmed and ranched. He also operated a Wholesale Oil and Gas Business.

He also served as a commissioner for Roger Mills County for six years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Jeanie Wesner; and one sister, Oneta Owen.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Reydon American Legion Building or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

He is survived by his wife Doris of the home; two sons, Bill Duke and wife, Phyliss of Elk City, Oklahoma; Bob Duke of Reydon, Oklahoma; one son in law, Brian Wesner of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; one brother James J. Duke and wife, Madge of Amarillo, Texas; three granddaughters, Angie Ivey and husband, Kyle of Hammon, Oklahoma; Kari Robertson and husband, Robbie of Yukon, Oklahoma; Jenna Duke of Elk City, Oklahoma; two great grandchildren, Katelyn and Korbin Ivey of Hammon, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 1998 at the Reydon Community Building officiated by Don Nelson.

Interment was in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
