Mary Sumpter Coots was born July 20, 1954 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Jewell and V. O. "Buster" Sumpter. She passed away October 17, 2007 at Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 53 years, 2 months and 27 days.

Mary grew up in Reydon where she attended school.

She was married to Farrel Lynn Coots at Wheeler, Texas on January 29, 1971.

Mary and Farrel stayed in the Reydon community until the early 90's when they moved to Alabama and later to Hollis, Oklahoma to make their home.

Mary enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing the piano and organ and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

She is survived by her husband, Farrel of the home; five children, Cherie Cantu of Hollis, Oklahoma; Justin Coots and wife, Beverly of El Reno, Oklahoma; Amanda Coots of the home; Lindsay Lara and husband Sam of Fallbrook, California; and Alisha Mendoza and husband Ivan of Jewett, Texas; and nine grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Friday, October 19, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at White Rose Cemetery officiated by Joe Cantu under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
