Billy DeWayne Batchelor was born June 24, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Doris Jean and Charles Billy Batchelor. He passed away June 6, 2007 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 56 years, 11 months and 12 days.

Billy graduated from Reydon High School in 1968 and attended Sayre Junior College. He began working for Gene Smith Chevrolet and later for Draper Motor Co. and AutoMart. He was married to Barbara Lee (Warren) at Las Vegas, Nevada on July 8, 1981 and thery made their home in Elk City. Billy was an accomplished musician and played bass guitar with Buddy and the Bums, Tucker and Smokin Okie. Billy always loved restoring classic cars and racing remote control cars. He was a member of the Reydon First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, 1 infant brother and 1 grandson Seth.

Survivors include his wife Barbara, of the home; 3 children Chris Batchelor and wife, Trish, Jason Cordell and wife Misty, and Patrick Cordell and wife, Laura; his mother Doris Jean Batchelor, of Cheyernne, Oklahoma; 1 brother, Gary Batchelor and wife, Christy, of Canute, Oklahoma; 1 sister Mary Ann Batchelor, of Okarche, Oklahoma; his parents-in-law Farrel and Janet Lundy, Lola Warren, all of Elk City, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, Alyssa, Amanda, Destiny, Memphis, Raydon and a host of relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 10:30 am at the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma officiated by Andy Taylor and Daryl Perry. Services are under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service, Elk City. Honorary Casket Bearers Buddy Parman, Gordon Thomas, Jack Cordell, John Easttom, Larry Glance, Mike Costedllo, Monty Proffit.
