Rodney Farrell Robinson

Rodney Farrell Robinson was born June 14, 1939 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Alene and Delmar G. Robinson.

He passed away September 17, 2009 at Strong City, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 3 days.

Farrell grew up in Strong City and attended school at Strong City before graduating from Hammon High School.

He worked in construction until enlisting in the US Air Force in September of 1961.

He was married to Alyce Sanford at Huntington, England on November 9, 1968.

He made his career in the Air Force where he was a heavy equipment operator. Farrell served his countey during the Vietnam War and retired in 1981 as a Tech Sergeant with the 820th Civil Engineers Red Horse after 20 years of service.

After his discharge, he returned to Strong City to make his home. Farrell enjoyed raising and showing Longhorn cattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Alyce of the home; one sister, Carla Sue Sanchez of Clinton, Oklahoma; one brother, Gary Robinson and wife Jamie of Morgantown, Kentucky; a nephew, Gayon Robinson and wife, Sherry of Cimarron, Kansas; two nieces, Debbie Powders and husband, Joe of Woodward, Oklahoma; and Tammy Robinson of Dumas, Texas; a cousin, Arlee Githens of Perryton, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Monday, September 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Strong City Cemetery officiated by R. B. Mathis and Loyd Hall.

Arrangements were under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.

Pall Bearers were Brad Bottom, Brian Hay, Dee Hay, Joe Hay, J. W. Little and Harve Hobbien.

Honorary Pall Bearers were Buster Miller, Eddie Gibson, Jerry Riley, Sid Goff, Kenneth Hay, Raymond Baggett and Sam Dodson.
