Alma Leona Butler Schmidt

Alma Leona Schmidt, 71 of Crawford was born July 2, 1917 in Hamburg, Oklahoma to Shelby James and Julie O. Butler and passed away Monday, September 26, 1988 at the home following an extended illness.
Alma grew up in the Hamburg/Crawford communities. On January 16, 1940, she was married to Steven Schmidt. They lived for a short time in Oregon, returning to the Crawford area. They have lived in the samew place since 1948. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ, worshipping the last few years in Cheyenne.
Preceding her in death were her parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister and 1 infant daughter.
Survivors include her husband Steve, of the home, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Jean Schmidt of Greeley, Colorado; Neal and Eileen of Crawford, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Michele, Scott, Rae Lyn, Sterling, 3 sisters, Anne Mae Clay of Hereford, Texas, Beatrice Hunter, Elk City, Oklahoma, Pearl Vaughn of Los Altos, California
Funeral services were held Wednesday September 28, 1988 at 2 p.m. in the Crawford Gym with Willard Cox officiating. Burial followed in the Silent Home Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne.
