Lawrence Augusta McClellan
Lawrence Augusta McClellan, Pioneer resident of Strong City, Oklahoma, died Thursday, October 22, 1953 at 11:30 p.m. following a long illness. He was born May 25, 1868 at Hillsdale, Michigan.
In 1888 he was united in marriage to Mattie (Martha) Emma Case at Fort Scott, Kansas.
Mr. and Mrs. McClellan moved to Roger Mills Co., OK in 1901, where they homesteader near Strong City and have lived there since.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Edna Scott, Rye, Colorado; Mrs. Nellie Keleweno, Boulder, Colorado; and Mrs. Lucille Smith, Ft. Worth, Texas; seven sons' Lester C., Strong City, OK; Fred, Mountain View, Missouri; Guy, Sudan, Texas, Orson, Alamos, Colorado; Clyde, Pampa, Texas: Claude, Sacramento, California; and Russell, Strong City, OK; one brother Emmitt McClellen of Elk City, OK; and one sister, Mrs. Fred (Lula) Emmitt, Canton, OK.
His wife preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the Crawford School Auditorium Sun., October 25, 1953 at 2:30 pm. Committal was in the Silent Home Cemetery with Scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne, OK in charge of the services.
