Cheyenne Star Newspaper Sep. 29, 1988 p. 7 Ethel Lucille Smith was born on Mar. 6, 1909 in Sargent, MO and passed away on Sept. 24, 1988 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital at the age of 79 yrs. 6 mos. and 18 dys.
Lucille, the daughter of Lawrence Augustus and Mattie Emma(Case) McClellan moved with her parents to KS and later to Roger Mills Co. in the Roll Community in 1910. On Nov. 3, 1928, she married Leslie Baley Smith at Sayre, OK. They moved to Spearman, TX and Ft. Worth, TX before moving to Cheyenne in 1966 to make their home.
She had been a member of the Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, TX, since 1957.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter, Patricia, 1 grandchild, 1 great-grandchild, 2 sisters and 6 brothers.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Bonita Beals of Roll, OK; Loretta Kinney and Jeweleen Smith of Weatherford, TX; 2 sons: Leslie and Billymack Smith of Weatherford, TX; 1 brother Russell McClellan of Cheyenne, OK; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives & friends.
Funeral services were at Magnolia Baptist Church, Crawford, OK with A. L. Martin & Terry Beals officiating. Burial was in the Silent Home Cemetery. Grandsons serving as pall bearers: Michael Smith, Darrell Smith, Lonnie Beals grandsons-in-law serving were: Mac Taylor, Don Whiteneck & Dale Sides. Rose Chapel Funeral Home director
