Wayne Welty

Wayne Welty was born March 20, 1894, in Hamego, Kansas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Welty and departed this life November 10, 1968 at Elk City, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage November 25, 1925 to Edna Allen. To this union was born two daughters, Wayna Jean and Helen.
He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Edna of the home; one brother, R. A. Welty, Strong City, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Tony and Brenda Yount; 2 nieces and 2 nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Wayne was preceeded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Katherine; and 1 brother, Vern.
He was in the service of his county for 19 months during World War I, and was a member of the Cheyenne American Legion.
He became a Christian at 40 years of age and often stated he wanted to do all he could in serving his Lord. His greatest desire was to share his Christian Experience with others.
Services were held in the Red Star church November 11, 1968 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Clyde Denney and A L. Martin officiating.
Interment was in the Red Star Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
