Funeral service for Marie Harden will be conducted Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hammon United Methodist Church with Dolan Ivey officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.
Voisie Marie Harden was born January 15, 1916 at Elk City to John A. and Flora (Brewer) Vinson and passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009 at the age of 93 years and 10 days. She was raised in the Colter Community before her marriage to John Wesley Harden on August 31, 1935 at Elk City. They farmed in Washita, Custer and Roger Mills County and in 1943 moved into the town of Hammon. In 1949, they became an implement dealer with Massey-Harris which is still in existence. She was a member of the Hammon United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, Clarence and Ott Vinson, a sister, Fannie Funk and a son-in-law, Keith Lovelace.
Survivors include 3 children: Lois Lovelace of Hammon, Wesley "Big Man" Harden Jr. and his wife Jane of Hammon, Annetta Harden of Kingfisher; 4 grandchildren, Robert Lovelace and his wife Rhonda of Hammon, Susan Winchester of Hinton, Freddie Harden and his wife Carolyn of Hammon and Chantel Fish and her husband Rodney of Elk City; 9 great grandchildren, Allen Lovelace of Lindsay, Christy Bell and her husband Scott of Elk City, Shane Winchester and Lon Winchester of Beaumont, TX, Rae Lynn Lovelace of El Reno, Brooke Harden of Hammon, Payton Fish, Weston Fish and Braxton Fish of Elk City and 3 great-great granddaughters, Lauren Lovelace and Rebekah Lovelace of Sayre and Makia Lovelace of El Reno.
