Naomi Algin Hodges Damron

Mrs. Naomi Algin Hodges Damron was born November 25, 1885 at Wayland, Texas. She departed this life May 11, 1954 at Canyon, Texas at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 16 days.
She came to Roger Mills County in 1905 and on March 3, 1911 she was united in marriage to Daniel M. Damron at Arapaho, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death February 8, 1936.
She moved to Elk City in May of 1946 where she has resided since.
She was a long time member of the Methodist Church, the Isbella Thoburn Circle of the W.S.C.S., the Mother's Sunday School class, and the Eastern Star at Hammon.
Survivors include five children, Mrs. Bill Allen and Dick Damron, both of Hammon; Mrs. Jim Stout of Elk City; Cecil Damron of Sayre; and Buford Damron of Henderson, Nevada; sixteen grandchildren; one step son, Ray Damron of Elk City; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Meda Perry of Girard, Texas; Mrs. Nora Staton of Wichita Falls, Texas and Mrs. Bertha Wilmouth of Oklahoma City.
Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Clark of Gage, Oklahoma; Mrs. Lila Ferguson of Commerce, Texas; and Mrs. Louise Meadows of Roswell, New Mexico; two brothers, Andrew Hodges of Knightstanding, California and Buck Hodges of Spur, Texas; stepmother Mrs. Betty Hodges; three half brothers, Cleat, Dolphus and James; and a half sister, Mrs. Lawson Smith, all of California.
