Ruby Adams Clayton

Ruby Adams, the daughter of Alonza and Florence Adams, was born July 3, 1893 at Neodesha, Kansas, and departed March 27, 1967 at the age of 73 years, 8 months and 24 days at a Convalescent Home in Elk City.
She came with her parents and sisters to Dewey County, Oklahoma in 1903.
On June 24, 1910 she was united in marriage to Thomas Levi Clayton of Crowel, Texas. They established their home in the Putman vicinity. They have lived in Hammon the past 31 years.
She professed her faith in Christ and placed her membership in the Christian Church of Clinton, Oklahoma. She enjoyed reading her Bible and was always ready to tell others about Christ. She was a loving, devoted wife and mother.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas L. Clayton of the home; three sons, Huel of Arapaho; Lonnie and Earl of Hammon; two sisters, Mrs. Fern Shirley and Mrs. Elva Harper of Thomas; five grandchildren and one great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews, also other relatives and friends who will mourn her passing.
Services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church.
Burial was in Red Hill cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
