Alice Louise Burgess Clayton

Funeral services for Alice Louise Burgess Clayton were held February 27, 1918 at Hammon, the daughter of Franklin Earl and Anna Shultz Burgess and died February 23, 1996 in her home in Clinton.
Mrs. Clayton grew up in the Hammon-Butler area and graduated from Pie Flat School.
In 1936 she married H. A. "Shorty" Clayton and he preceded her in death in 1993.
She attended Broadway Heights Baptist Church in Clinton.
Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Merrill of Clinton; one grandson, Lance Clayton Merrill of Clinton; three sisters, Lucille Mackie of Corpus Christi, Texas; Eula Bailey of Pampa, Texas; and Ruth Ann Collins of Butler; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Tom, John and Carroll Burgess; one sister, Burnice Greg; and one son, Larry Gene Clayton in 1953.
Burial was in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon.
