Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Hensley Ackley who died in an Elk City hospital April 12, 1967, were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April, 16, 1967, in the Hammon high school auditorium with Bro. Walter P. Bryan, Clinton, and Bro. Ronnie Clayton, Wheeler, Texas officiating.
Burial was in Red Hill cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
Kitty Eugenia Hensley was born September 13, 1908.
Most of her life was spent in and near Hammon.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was married to Buford Ackley September 10, 1934.
Besides her husband of the home, she is survived by two sons, MSGT Carroll Wayne Miller with the U.S. Air Force in South Vietnam; and James Buford Ackley of Hammon; one sister, Frances H. Ackley of Hammon, two nieces, Joan Tomberlin and June Ackley of Hammon; one nephew, Carroll E. Hensley of Dallas, Texas; two uncles, Elmer and Eddie Blount of Hammon; one aunt; seven grandchildren; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Jean loved her family very much and you could see her beaming with pride and goodness as all seven of her grandchildren were with them at Sunday Bible School and worship service.
